Welcome to the North St. Francois County R-I School District!
Our district is located in the northern region of St. Francois County, MO, serving the communities of Desloge, Bonne Terre, Valles Mines, and French Village. We proudly educate roughly 2,900 students from our vast community. The district is known regionally for outstanding academic achievement, which is reflected by our being awarded with Distinction in Performance by the State Board of Education for the past ten years. According to US News and World Report, North County High School is ranked among those in the Gold category of the nation's high schools for outstanding achievement.
Occupationally speaking, district graduates have shown great success after graduation whether they have chosen to enter the workforce, join the military, or pursue a post-high school education. Some North County alumni include lawyers, doctors, nurses, teachers, military, and professional athletes, to name just a few.
The North St. Francois County R-I School District is comprised of three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Furthermore, we are proud to have had the opportunity to recently expand our Pre-K program. High school students have the opportunity to enroll in dual enrollment courses through Mineral Area College and Missouri Baptist University.
NCSD is also home to UniTec Career Center, which educates NC students alongside those from seven other participating districts: Bismarck R-V, Central R-III, Farmington R-VII, Fredericktown R-I, Kingston K-14, Potosi R-III, and West County R-IV.
In addition to high-quality academics, the North County School District offers a wide range of athletics for students at the middle school and high school levels. These programs have demonstrated great success throughout the years. High school sports include volleyball, football, cross country, boys' and girls' soccer, boys' and girls' tennis, softball, boys' and girls' basketball, wrestling, track, baseball, golf, cheer, and the Raiderettes dance team. Middle school sports include volleyball, football, cross country, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, track, baseball, cheer, and softball (once other teams in the conference join).
