Dear Families,
This is your child’s P.I.R.A.T.E Binder
(Prepared, Informed, Responsible and Together Everyday). He/she will be bringing this home
everyday. This will be a daily communication log between school and home.
You will notice a monthly calendar
with a behavior line on each day. This goes along with the classroom behavior
stick. Yellow means warning, orange is another problem has occurred and red is
3 situations in one day. Each time your student does not follow a rule or turn
in homework, he/she has to move their clip on the stick. Everyone starts off at green. I will fill these out each day and write down
what the problem was. If your student does not move their clip, I will put a
sticker in the box for that day. I need you to initial the box DAILY. This will let you know what is going on each
day.
Please understand that I DO NOT expect
the students to be perfect. After all, they are just kids. This is my way of
managing the classroom so that it can be a positive learning environment. I’m sure
that EVERYONE will get their clip moved at some point in the year. When this
happens, please talk to your student about his/her behavior. If it continually
happens (everyday for several weeks), then you may want to take away at-home
privileges too. Student of the Month will be voted on by the students not me.
Requirements for student of the month are no tickets, never moving clip, no
more than 3 tardies, good attendance and positive
attitude.
The zipper pouch is for lunch money,
book order money, notes, or anything else that can be easily lost. Please put any money you send in an
envelope with your student’s name on it, the amount, and what it is for.
There
is also a daily assignment planner.
Students will fill these out each day to keep track of what assignments
were due.
Any
correspondence from me or the school will be placed in this folder. Please
check it and initial the calendar sheet daily.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me: at
school 431-3300, at home 314-954-2180, or email vbarron@ncsd.k12.mo.us.
I am looking forward to a wonderful,
exciting school year!
Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Vicky Barron
