SRA: Level C1 and Level C2 Classes (4th,
7th, and 8th hours): Daily Lessons
The ongoing
objective in all SRA classes is that students will develop and enhance decoding
skills, increase reading accuracy, and broaden their vocabulary.
Unless
otherwise noted below, SRA Level C1 and C2 classes, taught during 4th,
7th, and 8th periods will continue to work toward program
completion each day. Rarely is homework
assigned, and if it should happen, I will post the date and the assignment
below.
I encourage
parents to challenge their children to read outside of the classroom and to
become involved in what their child shows interest in reading…make reading a
family activity! I appreciate any and
all support that encourages students to read.

2011
Monday –
Friday:
ü This week
the SRA classes will be working through a pre-test that coincides with their
current level of reading. This process will most likely take the entire week.
Scores from these pre-tests will be used to compare with later post-tests to
determine the levels of growth that each student has made during the course of
the class. Due to these scores pre-test scores reflecting information that has
not yet been practiced, they WILL NOT be calculated into the student’s grades.
These scores are to allow us to see where we are starting only.
August 29 –
September 02, 2011
Monday –
Friday:
ü Each SRA
class will officially begin working through daily lessons at this point. Daily
lessons will progress throughout the remainder of the year. I usually do not
update the webpage with daily lesson information. However, if you have any
questions regarding the progress that your student is making in SRA, please
email me, Ms. Lay at alay@ncsd.k12.mo.us
or call me at 573-431-3300. I’ll be happy to discuss the class in further
detail.
ü Thanks so
much for your support!
